Introducing POWERCARE

aimg_4153Polartec® and Kenyon Consumer Products, LLC, recently inked a deal to offer a new line of fabric care products. Polartec® POWER CARE™, is a complete line of fabric treatments formulated specifically for Polartec® fabrics and recommended for all next-to-skin, insulation and weather protection garments. The current line includes two different wash-in treatments for base layers and outerwear, and two Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatments for fleece and shell garments. The product line is offered exclusively through Kenyon Consumer Products of West Kingston, RI and will be available to purchase at Polartec retailers across the country.

“Polartec POWER CARE is a natural brand extension for us,” states Polartec North American Marketing Manager, Allon Cohne. “Just as consumers prefer original manufacturer parts for cars or appliances, Polartec POWER CARE is designed by the creators of the fabric to optimize performance and extend the life of Polartec-based garments.”

POWER CARE products are water-based, fragrance-free, solvent -free and contain no ozone-depleting chemicals or fluorocarbons. POWER CARE was designed specifically for Polartec® fabrics but will clean and help to regenerate any performance fabric. The treatments are easily applied in home washing machines or sinks. The full line of POWER CARE includes:

BASE LAYER CLEANER – A wash-in treatment for base layer garments or thermal underwear that cleans and reduces odor, while maintaining the fabric’s original feel and wicking properties.

OUTERWEAR – A wash-in treatment for midlayer, outerlayer, insulating layers and shell garments that cleans and reduces odor, but does not remove water repellency or reduce loft/insulation.

FLEECE+DWR – A wash-in treatment that restores water repellency and promotes quick drying while maintaining the garment’s loft and insulating properties.

SHELL+DWR – A wash-in treatment for hard shell and softshell garments that maximizes water shedding to allow moisture vapor transfer in breathable fabrics.

Polartec POWER CARE treatments will be available in stores in Spring 2009.
